The Charlotte Pie, also known as Charlotte Cake, is a classic homemade treat that is distinguished by its simplicity and unique taste. This pie consists of layers of soft apples, caramelized sugar, and fragrant biscuit dough.
To prepare the Charlotte cake, you will need the following ingredients:
– 4-5 medium apples
– 200 g of sugar
– 3 eggs
– 200 g of flour
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
– powder for decoration (optional)
Start with the preparation of apples. Clean and cut them into thin slices. Then sprinkle them with half of the sugar and leave them for a while so that the apples are released juice and sugar melts.
While apples are released juice, prepare a biscuit dough. Beat eggs with the remaining sugar until lush mass is formed. Add vanilla extract and gradually enter the sifted flour with baking powder. Mix gently until a homogeneous dough is obtained.
Take the baking dish with the removable edge and put half the apples to the bottom. Then gently pour half the biscuit dough from above. Distribute the remaining apples over the entire surface and pour them with the remaining dough.
Bake the Charlotte pie in the oven heated to 180 degrees for approximately 40-45 minutes or to golden brown color. Check your readiness by stuck a wooden skewer in the middle of the pie: if it comes out clean, the pie is ready.
After baking, cool the pie, then carefully remove the edge of the mold. When serving, sprinkle the “charlotte” pie with powder to add tenderness to it and decorate its appearance.
Charlotte Pie is ready for serving! Enjoy this luxurious dessert along with a cup of tea or coffee.
