Fig pie, or Fig Pie, is a magnificent delicacy that combines the sweetness of ripe figs and the tenderness of crisp dough. Here is a recipe that will help you cook this delicious pastries.
Ingredients:
– 250 g of flour
– 125 g of cold butter
– 50 g of sugar
– 1 egg
– 1/4 teaspoon of salt
– 500 g of ripe figs
– 50 g of brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon of starch
Instructions:
1. Prepare the dough for the pie. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt. Add cold butter and shake a bowl to mix the ingredients until large crumbs are formed. Add the egg and knead the soft dough. Wrap it in a film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. Time to prepare the filling. Cut the figs into halves and cut them into thin rings. Move the figs to the pan, add brown sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring from time to time, until the figs become soft and juicy. Pull out 1 teaspoon of starch with a small amount of water and add it to the figs. Prepare, stirring, another 2-3 minutes, until the filling thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
3. Turn on the oven and first heat it to 180 degrees Celsius.
4. Divide the dough into two halves, one slightly more. Roll up a large half on a baking sheet to cover the bottom and sides of the cake shape. Fill the form prepared from the figs. Roll out the remaining half of the dough and use it to create the upper layer of the pie. Close figs with dough, connecting the edges and making cuts for the removal of steam.
5. Put the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, until the dough becomes golden and crispy.
6. When the pie is ready, take it out of the oven and leave it on a cooling grill. After complete cooling, cut the pie into portions and serve.
Pie with figs, or “fig pie” – goes well with strawberry or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy this delicious dessert!
