
Recipe for the preparation of Japanese rice pie:
Ingredients:
– 2 cups of round -grain Japanese rice
– 2 cups of water
– 1/4 cup of rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons of sugar
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– filling to your taste (for example, crab sticks, avocados, cucumber)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the rice several times under cold water to remove excess starch. Then measure 2 cups of rice and transfer it to the pan.
2. Add water and let the rice swell for 30 minutes.
3. Put a pan with rice on fire and bring to a boil. Then reduce the fire to a minimum, cover with a lid and cook the rice for about 15-20 minutes, until the whole liquid is absorbed.
4. In a small saucepan mix rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Heat the mixture over low heat to dissolve sugar and salt. Let it cool to room temperature.
5. When the rice is ready, transfer it to a large bowl and carefully mix it with rice vinegar. In this case, it is necessary to cool the rice with a fan or mix it with a fan so that it cools faster and becomes sticky.
6. On a clean surface, distribute a layer of plastic for wrapping food or silicone rug for land. Put half the prepared rice and distribute it evenly over the entire area, leaving about 1 cm of free space around the edges.
7. Evenly distribute the filling along the rice, leaving a small indentation from the edges.
8. Cover the filling of the remaining half rice, gently pressing it to the filling.
9. Carefully remove the pizza from the surface and transfer to the cutting board. Cut the cake into wedges or squares.
10. The Japanese rice pie is ready to serve. You can serve it with soy sauce, Basabi and ginger.
