Redcurrant pie – this is a magnificent summer treat that combines tender sweetness and light sourness of fresh berries. You can cook this pie, following a simple recipe below.
Ingredients:
– 250 g of wheat flour
– 150 g of butter (frozen)
– 100 g of sugar
– 1 egg
– 500 g of fresh red currants
– 100 g of sugar powder
– 2 tablespoons of starch
Instructions:
1. First of all, prepare the dough for the pie. In a large bowl, mix wheat flour and sugar. Add frozen butter and grate it quickly on a coarse grater. The resulting crumbs should resemble sand crumbs.
2. Break the egg in a separate cup and add it to a bowl of flour and oil. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until a homogeneous dough is formed. Wrap the dough in the food film and put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
3. At this time, get the cooking. Wash and dry fresh red currant. Mix it with powdered sugar and starch so that the berries become slightly juicy and sweet.
4. Pre -heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
5. Divide the dough into two parts – one for the base of the pie, and the other for the upper layer. Roll the first part on a magnificent round cake dish and carefully lay the currant on the dough.
6. Cover the filling on top with the second circle of rolled dough. Make a few incisions on the top layer of dough so that the released steam can come out during baking.
7. Put the pie in the preheated oven and bake it for about 35-40 minutes, until the upper crust becomes golden.
8. When the pie is ready, take it out of the oven and leave it for 10-15 minutes before serving.
9. Serve a warm currant pie in a warm form, sprinkling it with powdered sugar on top or accompanying it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Bon appetit!
